Marta is an Airbnb landlord in Italy. In a TikTok video, she shows how incredibly dirty some vacationers leave their vacation homes.

Marta Cantoni offers around a dozen apartments in various Italian cities on Airbnb. Now the Italian woman has lost her temper. In the Milan newspaper “Corriere della Sera” she complained about how some tourists leave their holiday apartments. She recorded a particularly extreme case on video.

In her TikTok video, Marta shows an Airbnb apartment after the departure of a vacationer who had allegedly booked a large apartment for himself. “One book, four leave. I couldn’t be there for check-in, and when I came to check out, they were already gone. That doesn’t happen to everyone, but it happens in a group! Has it happened to you too?” Marta writes on TikTok. She asked twice, but they always said it was about one tenant.

The pictures that Marta shows from the Airbnb apartment are creepy. “Dirty dishes are piled up in the sink, leftovers from the past few days are in the fridge,” she describes the situation. There are pictures of a dirty toilet and a dirty bathroom, cigarette butts.

“They even left me sandwiches on the kitchen table,” says Marta disgustedly. All the beds are occupied, even though only one tenant has registered. The motto of many is: “I pay, so I do what I want.”

“There is no human respect for those who do the cleaning,” complains the young woman in the “Corriere della Sera”. “Many customers forget or perhaps do not know that behind this house there are people of flesh and blood who work there.”

Airbnb is an online marketplace that allows people to rent out their own accommodations to travelers, as well as offer experiences such as tours and workshops. Here’s how it works: Users register on the Airbnb website or app and create a profile. When a user finds a suitable accommodation, they can send a booking request or, if the host’s settings allow it, book directly.

Payment is made through Airbnb, which holds the money and only releases it to the host after check-in to avoid fraud. The guest checks into the accommodation and uses it during their stay.

Lots of sun and rising temperatures are now the order of the day again. If you drive a lot, you’re probably relying heavily on the air conditioning in your car. Not without reason, as it cools significantly more and faster than leaving the windows open while driving. But you should still be careful.
