A German holidaymaker drowned during a boat trip on Mallorca. He was travelling on a pleasure boat.
Tragic accident on Mallorca: A 58-year-old man from Zossen, south of Berlin, and his wife visited his brother, who lives on the Spanish Mediterranean island, reported the “Mallorca Zeitung” (MZ). “He was suffering from a brain tumor and wanted to recover from all the operations,” the brother told the paper. The accident happened on June 8. The German consulate in Palma confirmed the death upon request, wrote the “MZ”.
The excursion boat set sail from Alcúdia in the north of Mallorca with a total of 168 passengers. How the accident in the Bay of Pollença occurred was initially unclear. The captain of the catamaran probably thought the German was snorkelling near the catamaran, wrote the “MZ” newspaper, citing eyewitnesses. However, when the man did not move for a while, he was taken out of the water. The police confirmed that they had begun an investigation into the case.
Lots of sun and rising temperatures are now the order of the day again. If you drive a lot, you’re probably relying heavily on the air conditioning in your car. Not without reason, as it cools significantly more and faster than leaving the windows open while driving. But you should still be careful.
