The marriage of a woman (43) from the USA has ended after 23 years. That is bad enough in itself, but her husband (50) also gave her another shocking piece of news: he is going to be a father. Now the wife is turning to Reddit users.
In her post, the woman, who has two children (18, 14) with her husband, reports on her marital problems. Last November, her husband needed a break from married life. The 50-year-old moved back in with his mother, is said to have gotten drunk every night and found a new girlfriend. At the time, he still wanted a divorce.
In February, however, the situation changed and he came back. But his happiness did not last long. In a message, he told his wife that he was going to be a father again. The child’s mother is said to live in another country. In addition, according to his still-wife, the man wants to break off contact with her and their children in order to take care of the baby, according to Reddit.
The 43-year-old says: “I don’t know what to do. I filed for divorce, but he refused and said he wasn’t ready.” Now she is asking Reddit users for advice and asking if she can still get a divorce and if there is a way to secure payments for her children.
The advice many people gave in the comments is that she should definitely get a lawyer. One person wrote: “Contact a lawyer, a consultation is usually free, and find out what rights you have. Do it today, your children deserve it. Fight for alimony and child support.” She has to do it now, before he disappears.
