According to a survey, people in Germany are becoming increasingly dissatisfied with their medical care.
More than two out of three respondents (68 percent) criticize problems with making appointments. A majority of 59 percent even express a general distrust of political decision-makers, according to a representative survey conducted by the Human8 Institute on behalf of the pharmaceutical company Stada.
In Germany, only 64 percent are generally satisfied with medical care. That is 16 points less than in the same survey from 2020. In neighboring Switzerland (81 percent) and Austria (72 percent), satisfaction is higher. Nevertheless, Germany is above the European average in 23 countries with 56 percent approval of the respective system.
Germans see room for improvement in increased domestic production of medicines instead of imports (64 percent agree) or better pay for health care workers (46 percent). In line with the European average, 69 percent of respondents express trust in conventional medicine, two percentage points less than a year ago.
