Dane Cook, Bassem Youssef, Bobby Slayton and some twenty other comedians and public figures will participate in the Just for Laughs festival from July 18 to 28, at the Quartier des Spectacles, presented for the first time as part of ComediHa! Salutes Montreal.
This is the first edition of Just for Laughs since the takeover, a few months ago, of the Just for Laughs Group by ComédiHa!.
“This is a first step towards the relaunch of Just for laughs. Our team has done an extraordinary job and is proud to have succeeded, in just a few weeks, in putting together this English-language programming that is in addition to ComediHa! salutes Montréal,” said Sylvain Parent-Bédard, president of Just for laughs and ComediHa!, in a press release.
“This is part of our desire to offer the city’s comedy fans a festival that unites the two languages to meet their expectations, putting forward quality international shows. »
A free outdoor program, on the Place des Festivals, will allow comedy fans to see Dane Cook on July 27, as well as another artist who will be announced later. Every evening, a humorous 7 to 8 as well as a stand-up hosted by Pantelis will serve as the opening act for the main shows.
Place des Arts, Club Soda, 9th and Comedy Nest will host paid indoor shows, notably presented by Bobby Slayton on July 19, Bassem Youssef on July 20 and Marito Lopez on July 25.
