(Disraeli) An 18-year-old young man succumbed to his injuries after being found seriously injured on the side of a road in the municipality of Disraeli, in the Chaudière-Appalaches region, Tuesday evening, and everything suggests that it is a murder.
Emergency services were alerted around 6:30 p.m. about a seriously injured individual who was on the edge of Marcotte Road in Disraeli.
The young man was quickly transported to a hospital, although he was in critical condition.
Wednesday morning, the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) could confirm the death of the victim.
For the moment, the cause of death is unknown, but traces of violence were found on the victim’s body.
“Everything suggests that it was a murder, since the victim showed signs of violence,” said Sergeant Marythé Bolduc, who is spokesperson for the provincial police force.
No arrests had been made in this case as of Wednesday morning. The crimes against the person section of the SQ will be responsible for leading the investigation.
Investigators and technicians from the forensic identification service went to the scene to analyze the location where the young man was found.
The investigation continues into this matter.
