Former CF Montreal midfielder Ismaël Koné will enter a first-tier league. He will play for Olympique de Marseille (OM), who would spend 12.5 million to acquire him.

The Canadian international has reportedly agreed to the terms of a five-year contract, reports renowned informant Fabrizio Romano. Other teams like West Ham in England and AS Roma in Italy have reportedly shown interest in his services.

Koné joined Watford in January 2023, after a transfer from CF Montreal. The transfer amounted to 7 million. In 63 games with the English club, he scored 4 goals.

Born in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, Ismaël Koné grew up in Montreal. He played for the St-Laurent soccer club then for the CF Montreal Academy. He signed his first professional contract with the team in August 2021.

In his first professional season with CF Montreal, Koné played 26 matches, including 18 as a starter. In 1587 minutes of play, he had two goals and five assists in the regular season.
