(Las Vegas) Colorado Avalanche center Nathan MacKinnon won the Ted Lindsay Trophy, given to the league’s best player according to his peers, Thursday at the National Hockey League awards ceremony. hockey (NHL).
The award is given to the league’s top player as voted on by the NHL Players’ Association. MacKinnon is holding the trophy for the first time.
MacKinnon set a new personal mark with 140 points. He started the season with a streak of 35 home games with at least one point. Only Wayne Gretzky did better.
MacKinnon finished the season with 54 goals and 89 assists. He was chosen over Nikita Kucherov of the Tampa Bay Lightning and Auston Matthews of the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Florida Panthers captain Aleksander Barkov won the Selke Trophy as the best defensive forward for the second time in four years.
Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Jaccob Slavin won the Lady Byng Trophy, awarded for good sportsmanship and good conduct on the ice. He also won it in 2021.
Rick Tocchet received the Jack Adams Trophy as head coach of the year. He led the Vancouver Canucks to the Pacific Division title.
Jim Nill of the Dallas Stars is the winner of the Jim Gregory Trophy, awarded to the general manager of the year.
