Former President Trump criticized Vice President Kamala Harris for her meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, calling it “terrible and insulting.” Trump took to his social media site, Truth Social, to express his disapproval, claiming that Harris disrespected the Middle East ally by refusing to preside over Congress during Netanyahu’s speech.
In his post, Trump also suggested that Harris’s actions could prolong the war and delay the release of hostages. He went on to compare the current administration’s handling of the situation in Israel to their actions in Afghanistan, accusing them of gross incompetence.
While Trump used the word “insulting” in quotations, it is unclear whether he was directly quoting Netanyahu. An Israeli official reportedly told Axios that Netanyahu was unhappy with Harris mentioning civilian deaths in Gaza and the humanitarian crisis there. However, the White House pushed back against these reports, with one aide stating, “I don’t know what they’re talking about.”
Trump also reiterated his belief that he is the best candidate for Jewish and Catholic Americans, urging them not to vote for Harris or any Democrat. He urged voters to “MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN” by supporting him in the 2024 election.
The meeting between Netanyahu and Harris took place before Netanyahu’s meeting with Trump at Mar-a-Lago in Florida. The interactions between the Israeli Prime Minister and top American officials continue to be a topic of interest and speculation.
