A 25-year-old man is in critical condition after an armed attack in Montreal on Saturday afternoon.
The incident occurred on Wolfe Street, near René-Lévesque Boulevard East, in the Centre-Sud district.
The police arrived on the scene after a call was made to 911 concerning a bloodied man in the street, explained Sabrina Gauthier, spokesperson for the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).
They then saw “a man on the ground exposing injuries to his lower body made by a sharp object,” said Sabrina Gauthier.
The man was taken to hospital and his life is feared.
The suspect(s) had already fled when the police arrived, but witnesses will be met and surveillance cameras will be viewed.
The SPVM also indicates that the canine unit as well as investigators will analyze the scene.
For this reason, a security perimeter was erected, which resulted in the closure of Wolfe Street between Saint-Catherine Street East and René-Lévesque Boulevard East.
