The Disinvest for Palestine collective set up a camp at Victoria Square, near the offices of the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ), in Montreal, in order to “denounce Quebec’s complicity” in the “genocide in Gaza”. .

The group demands “that CDPQ immediately divest from its $14.2 billion in investments in the 87 companies identified as complicit in the Israeli occupation,” according to a statement released Saturday.

The group also calls on the Quebec government to “immediately close the Quebec office in Israel.”

The “Al-Soumoud Popular Camp” says it is “a continuation of the student camps that call for divestment from Canadian and Quebec educational institutions.”
