A truck drove into an accident on the A9. One person from the towing service was killed. A police officer and the truck driver were seriously injured.
A truck drove into an accident on the A9 in eastern Saxony-Anhalt on Monday night – one person died. The 43-year-old truck driver and a 26-year-old police officer who was on duty at the scene of the accident were seriously injured, the police announced on Monday. The dead person was therefore a worker for the towing service.
According to police information, there had been an accident on the right side of the road on Sunday evening on the A9 towards Munich between Dessau-Süd and Thurland, in which one person was slightly injured. A police patrol car was at the scene of the accident during the rescue. According to the information, the officers cordoned off the area and a towing service was also on site to remove the accident vehicle.
According to the police, around 11 p.m. the truck drove into the patrol car, pushed it onto the accident vehicle and finally pushed it onto the tow truck. According to the spokesman, the 26-year-old policewoman was trapped in the police car and had to be freed by the fire department. As a result, the motorway was completely closed for around two hours.
