Johnny Shane Brown (50) was captured by the Wilmington Police Department in North Carolina on Thursday.
Authorities said that a Tennessee inmate was captured on Thursday, almost a week after and two other escapees from jail via an HVAC air vent.
Johnny Shane Brown (50) was taken into custody by the Wilmington Police Department in North Carolina, and the U.S. According to police, Marshals Carolinas Regional Fugitive Task Force was responsible for the capture of Johnny Shane Brown, 50.
Brown, Tobias Wayne Carr (38), and Timothy Allen Sarver (45) had accessed the ventilation system through their cell ceiling and escaped through the roof vent at Sullivan County Jail.
Carr & Sarver were “confirmed dead” in Wilmington following an armed robbery at a convenience shop and a pursuit of a car, according to the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office in an update Monday afternoon.
According to the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office, their car had crashed during the chase.
Carr was convicted of vandalism, second-degree murder and tampering evidence. Brown was charged with harassment, domestic assault, and aggravated stalking.
Sarver was charged with identity theft and auto theft.
The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office previously offered a $7,500 reward for information leading to each man’s arrest.
