Airbnb will give you the chance to be “Home Alone” and get your ugly, yella, and no-good keisters at this property. This property is a bit of Christmas movie history.
Yes, that’s the latest publicity stunt by the home rental company. It is the Chicago-area property that Kevin McCallister (played in Macaulay Culkin), famously booby-trapped for terrorizing two bumbling burglars (played respectively by Joe Pesci & Daniel Stern) during the 1990 comedy “Home Alone.”
Airbnb listing, -5.48% , invites guests to connect with their inner 8-year olds and enjoy the same antics as Culkin in the movie. You can also “eat junk and watch rubbish” (such the latest film in the franchise, “Home Sweet Home Alone”, streaming on Disney+ which the Airbnb listing promotes) or you can slather on aftershave, screaming into the bathroom mirror.
The Winnetka, Ill. mansion’s halls will be decorated for Christmas with a perfectly trimmed tree and twinkling lights. The Lego Ideas “Home Alone” kit and a refrigerator stocked with Chicago pizza and 1990s junk food are also available for guests to take home. Visitors will also be provided with booby traps to place around their house.
Booking opens at 2 pm. ET on December 7 to book a Dec. 12 stay. The guests who are lucky will need to arrange their transportation to Chicago and follow any COVID-19 guidelines.

Airbnb posted its highest quarterly revenue and net profit last month. This was due to the increased travel demand that occurred during the pandemic. The company booked 79.7 millions nights and experiences in the third quarter. This was 29% more than the previous year.
