An Illinois Amber Alert was issued on Thursday morning by the Rock Island Police Department after a vehicle was stolen with a 4-year-old girl inside. Blessing J. Aoci, a Black 4-year-old girl weighing 50 pounds with black hair and brown eyes, was taken when her mother’s car was stolen around 6 a.m. near the intersection of 14th 1/2 Street and 13th Avenue in Rock Island.

Urgent Search for Missing Girl

At the time of the incident, Blessing was in a booster seat in the back of the car while her mother briefly went inside a residence, leaving the vehicle running. The car was stolen with Blessing still inside, prompting an immediate response from law enforcement.

Desperate Search Efforts

Shortly after the theft, the vehicle was located at 9th Street at 14th Avenue in Rock Island; however, Blessing was not found inside. She was last seen wearing a pink jacket, blue pants, and pink boots, according to police reports.

Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact 911 or the Rock Island Police Department at 309-732-2677. The police department has mobilized all available resources, including neighboring agencies, door-to-door canvassing, and drone searches by the Rock Island Police Department, Rock Island County Sheriff’s Department, and Moline Police Department to locate the missing child.
