A dramatic turn of events for the Laval Rocket. Jean-François Houle is leaving his position as head coach to join the men’s hockey program at Clarkson University in the NCAA.
The Rocket’s general manager, John Sedwick, made the announcement Friday noon in a press release. The decision was made by mutual agreement, to allow Houle to take over the program at Clarkson University, where he himself played for four years from 1993 to 1997.
“We would like to thank Jean-François for his contribution to the development of the culture of our organization and our players,” said Sedwick.
“During his three years at the helm of the Rocket, his dedication and experience allowed the team to be very competitive, while adequately preparing many players to make the jump to the NHL. We wish him the best of luck in this next chapter of his career. »
