Toronto Blue Jays third baseman Matt Chapman has been named the American League Player of the Week.
Chapman led the American’s batting with 12 RBIs, hitting two long balls and posting a .464 batting average in six games.
Notably, he had a five RBI game after scoring a grand slam in a 12-11 snatch win over the Los Angeles Angels on Sunday.
The player who appeared in the 2019 All-Star Game leads the Major Leagues with 19 hits and a .475 average so far this season.
Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Bryan Reynolds received the same honor in the National League.
Reynolds hit four homers and had 12 RBIs, in addition to posting a .480 batting average in five games.
