Colourful Success: Annual Charity Run in Penticton Exceeds Expectations

Banner year for colour run

Penticton’s most vibrant fundraiser, the Wildstone Colours 4 Kids Run, saw a remarkable turnout this year with over 1,000 enthusiastic participants of all ages and abilities taking part in the event on Sunday morning.

Julie Read, the manager of people and culture at Wildstone Construction, expressed her excitement over the record-breaking number of 810 registered participants before the run began. This marked a significant increase from previous years, making it a truly successful event.

Celebrating its 8th year, the Colours 4 Kids Run continues to donate 100% of its proceeds to the OSNS Child and Youth Development Centre, located in Penticton. The event not only covered participants in vibrant colours but also ended with a lively foam party organized by Amuzing Fun Rentals.

With Wildstone Construction matching donations up to $20,000, the total amount raised for OSNS is expected to surpass last year’s contributions. Representatives from OSNS emphasized that the funds raised will directly benefit children in the South Okanagan region who require developmental support and services.

The charity run, organized by Wildstone Construction, has become a beloved tradition in the community, attracting families and individuals year after year. The event aims to raise awareness and support for OSNS, ensuring that vital services are accessible to those in need.

The route of the run took participants from LocoLanding parking lot, through Lakeshore Drive, around Okanagan Park, and back to LocoLanding for the festive foam party. Along the way, cheer and colour stations, as well as refreshing freezies, added to the excitement of the 2.5 km run.

The Colours 4 Kids Run was initiated by Sinclaire Lovett, a former Penticton resident, in memory of her sister Bronwyn, who received crucial support from OSNS. Despite not being present at the run, Sinclaire expressed her gratitude to all the supporters and participants who contributed to the success of the event.
