Arkansas State Police have confirmed that a fourth victim has tragically passed away following the shooting incident that took place outside a grocery store in Fordyce, Arkansas. The shooting, which occurred on Friday, resulted in a total of 14 people sustaining injuries, including 11 civilians, two law enforcement officers, and the suspect, Travis Eugene Posey, who is 44 years old.

Travis Eugene Posey, a resident of New Edinburg, will be facing four counts of capital murder in connection to the shooting. The victims who lost their lives in this senseless act of violence have been identified as Shirley Taylor, 62, Callie Weems, 23, Roy Sturgis, 50, and Ellen Shrum, 81. All of the deceased victims were civilians.

In addition to the fatalities, seven civilians, comprising of five women and two men, were injured in the shooting. Four of the injured individuals, including a woman in critical condition, remain hospitalized. Fortunately, three of the injured civilians were able to be released from the hospital on Friday.

Fordyce Police officer James Johnson, 31, who sustained a gunshot wound during the incident, has been discharged from the hospital on Saturday. Another officer, John Hudson, 24, from the Stuttgart Police Department, suffered minor injuries.

Travis Eugene Posey, the suspect, received treatment for his non-life-threatening injuries after exchanging gunfire with law enforcement officials. Following his medical treatment, he was taken into custody by state police and transferred to the Ouachita County Detention Center. Posey is currently facing four counts of capital murder, with additional charges expected to be filed.
