(PARIS) The Serbian Novak Djokovic, who should be present at Wimbledon next week, is the new runner-up to the Italian Janik Sinner, in place of the Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, in the ATP ranking published on Monday.

For his first tournament contested as No.1, Sinner won the title on Sunday in Halle, Germany, against the Pole Hubert Hurkacz.

At the age of 27, he obtained the best ranking of his career, at 7th in the world, up two places.

Australian Alex De Minaur is 9th, after falling two positions.

Argentina’s Sebastian Baez, 18th, and American Sebastian Korda, 20th, both achieved career-best rankings, having moved up one and three places respectively.

This is also the case for China’s Zhizhen Zhang, beaten by Sinner in the semi-final in Halle, who moves up nine places to 33rd in the world rankings.
