If the holidays are prolonged for some, others are already actively preparing for the start of the new school year, and more particularly the start of the school year. Despite many tips for saving money, this time of year can sometimes be a real money pit. With the purchase of school supplies, it is difficult to limit expenses. To help the households, they receive the back-to-school allowance each year.
This year, it will be paid in two instalments. While in Mayotte and Reunion, where the start of the school year has already started, the allowance has already been paid, it will be necessary to wait until Tuesday August 16 for the other French territories before receiving it. However, it will not be complete. Like other pensions and aid, the back-to-school allowance was increased by 4% thanks to the law for purchasing power, voted in July 2022 by the deputies, as explained by BFMTV.
This increase will not be included in the first payment of the back-to-school allowance and will therefore be the subject of a second payment. This will take place a few days after Tuesday, August 16, according to the Ministry of Solidarity, Autonomy and People with Disabilities. This revaluation represents around fifteen euros depending on the amount received, and depending on the age of the children. To find out if you can benefit from this aid, you must go to the website of the Caisse d’Allocations Familiales (CAF) or that of the Mutualité Sociale Agricole (MSA). Obtaining the allowance depends on two criteria: household income, like all other aid, as well as the number of dependent children.
The amount that will then be collected depends on the age of the children. Families with a child aged 6 to 10 will receive 392.05 euros. If the child is 11 to 14 years old, the household will receive 413.69 euros. Finally, for young dependents aged between 15 and 18, the allowance increases to 428.02 euros.
