In the search for the missing British presenter, a rescue worker told the “BBC” that a body was found on the Greek island of Symi. The 67-year-old media professional was known for his TV programs and his BBC Radio 4 podcast “Just One Thing”. He disappeared while on vacation on the island on Wednesday and has since been searched for in a remote mountainous area.
The body found, which has not yet been officially identified, was discovered on a small cliff on a rocky hill northeast of the village of Pedi, near the beach of Agia Marina. A police official told the BBC that the deceased must have been dead “for several days”. The mayor of Symi confirmed that the body was found when teams searched the coast with cameras.
The Greek authorities have been searching for the presenter for five days. Firefighters, dogs, helicopters, drones, locals and police officers from Symi and other islands took part in the search.
