(Toronto) The Toronto Blue Jays defeated the Chicago White Sox 5-2 on a three-run homer from Cavan Biggio.
Whit Merrifield’s double was also scored in the fourth inning, allowing the Blue Jays to win back-to-back games. Matt Chapman added a run with a double in the seventh inning.
Chris Bassitt (3-2) allowed just two runs, three hits and three walks, as well as four strikeouts in 6 1/3 innings before leaving the game with pain at the lower back.
Relievers Zach Pop, Tim Mayza and Jordan Romano did not allow a run. The latter collected his eighth save of the season.
Andrew Vaughn’s two-run double in the third inning was all the White Sox could do in their fifth straight loss.
Lance Lynn gave up four runs on five hits, as well as three walks in five innings of work, striking out four batters.
Gregory Santos, Keynan Middleton and Jake Diekman came out of the White Sox bullpen, Middleton conceded a point.
