(Toronto) The Toronto Blue Jays have placed shortstop Bo Bichette on the 10-day injured list with a strained right calf.
The Blue Jays announced the decision, retroactive to Saturday, before their Tuesday night game against the Boston Red Sox at Rogers Centre.
Bichette played in one final game on Friday. So far this season, he has a batting average of .237 with four home runs and 28 RBIs.
The Blue Jays also announced that they had transferred left-handed pitcher Brandon Eisert to their AAA-level Buffalo farm club.
The Blue Jays recalled infielder Orelvis Martinez and right-handed pitcher Ryan Burr from Buffalo and placed them on the active roster before Tuesday’s game.
