(Ottawa) Bombardier aircraft assembly workers went on strike Sunday after their union failed to reach an agreement with the company before a Saturday evening deadline.
Unifor released a statement Sunday saying 1,350 workers are on strike.
The union says negotiations with the employer continued throughout the night and into the morning.
Negotiations are expected to resume early Monday morning.
Unifor says both parties are committed to continuing the negotiation process.
Bombardier spokesperson Mark Masluch maintains that the collective goal is to “rapidly reach a mutually beneficial agreement.”
