Activision Clarifies Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Download Size

Activision Blizzard has stepped in to address concerns about the download size of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. Contrary to previous messaging, the game will not require a massive 300 GB download.

Players were alarmed when they saw the Xbox store page listing the game’s download size at 309.85 GB. This raised worries among PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S users about the significant space the game would take up on their consoles.

However, Activision has now set the record straight in a Twitter post. The company explained that the listed size includes the full installations of Modern Warfare II, Modern Warfare III, Warzone, and all language packs combined. This is not indicative of the actual download size for Black Ops 6.

Players will have the option to download only Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 without the additional content if they wish. Activision has promised to provide more information on the game’s actual size closer to its launch.

Black Ops 6 was recently revealed as Treyarch’s latest addition to the series, with new features like omnidirectional movement and new Zombies maps. The game, set in the ’90s, marks a new era for Call of Duty and will not carry over content from Modern Warfare 2 and 3.
