Cataract Awareness Campaign Raises Awareness on Eye Health

In honor of Cataract Awareness Month in June, Campaign, the company behind the social campaign app Campaign #ForABetterWorld, joined forces with philanthropic organization Ishk Tolaram to educate the public on the importance of eye health and how to take care of it. This new initiative is part of the “See For a Better World: Restoring Sight, Changing Lives #EyeCareForAll” program and utilizes the Campaign #ForABetterWorld app. By partnering with various social communities focused on eye health, the engaging campaign aims to raise awareness about the risks of eye diseases, particularly cataracts.

Dr. Rahmat Setiawan, deputy program director at Ishk Tolaram Indonesia Foundation, expressed gratitude for the collaboration with Campaign. He highlighted the success of the digital campaign in spreading awareness about cataracts and emphasizing that the condition is treatable.

As part of the #EyeCareForAll campaign, Ishk Tolaram is offering free cataract surgery in partnership with Lentera Mata Indah and the Cataract Blindness Eradication (SPBK) division of the Indonesian Ophthalmologists Association (Perdami). Lentera Mata Indah conducted complimentary cataract surgeries in May, providing treatment to 750 patients in Semarang, Central Java. Additionally, over 200 cataract patients received free surgeries from SPBK Perdami on June 4-6 in Banggai Laut, Central Sulawesi.

Nabila Aulia, project lead of the #EyeCareForAll campaign, praised Campaign for their creative approach to organizing social initiatives. By bringing together companies, social communities, and collaborators, the campaign has been able to reach a wider audience. Through the #ForABetterWorld Campaign app, people are mobilized for cashless donations, with A New Vision, a healthcare foundation from Singapore, providing funding for the initiative. Aulia emphasized that all donations will directly support communities in need.

The collaboration between Campaign and Ishk Tolaram has not only raised awareness about cataracts but has also provided essential medical interventions for those in underserved communities. By promoting eye health and offering free surgeries, the campaign is making a tangible impact on the lives of individuals affected by cataracts. Through continued efforts and support, the #EyeCareForAll campaign aims to improve access to eye care and promote overall well-being for all.
