Tragic Accident in Caterham Leaves Woman Dead and Two Injured

A tragic accident in Surrey has resulted in the death of a woman who was travelling as a passenger in a grey Mercedes E220. The crash occurred on Buxton Lane in Caterham before 03:00 BST, leaving the 34-year-old woman dead at the scene. Two other passengers, a man and a woman in their 30s, sustained injuries and were taken to the hospital, with the woman currently in a life-threatening condition.

According to the police, a fourth occupant of the car fled the scene. Described as a white man aged between 30 and 40, and of stocky build, he was seen wearing a white t-shirt and carrying a small bag. Road closures have been put in place at the Salmons Lane West roundabout as investigations into the crash continue.

The next of kin of the victims have been informed and are receiving support from the authorities. Police are urging anyone with information about the crash or who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
