Additionally, a 14-year-old Chicago boy was injured in the shooting.

Suspect Sentenced to 66 Years

The individual responsible for this heinous crime, Iram Uranga Armendáriz, was swiftly arrested and sentenced to more than 66 years in prison. Mexican authorities revealed that Armendáriz was charged in connection with the attack that claimed the lives of Peña Jr., Fernandez, and Aguirre. The motive behind the attack was reportedly linked to a $250,000 debt that the victims owed Armendáriz for a piece of land they intended to purchase.

Details of the Tragic Incident

On the fateful night of the attack, Armendáriz engaged in a conversation with the victims at a party before abruptly leaving. Subsequently, the victims followed him in a vehicle, leading to a confrontation along a highway. During this altercation, Armendáriz resorted to violence by pulling out a 9-millimeter caliber pistol and fatally shooting both Fernandez and Peña Jr. in the head. Aguirre and the teenage boy were also caught in the crossfire as they attempted to flee the scene after witnessing the brutal attack.
