The undisclosed trips include travel on private jets from St. Louis to Montana, Washington to Savannah, and Washington to San Jose.
Documents provided by Crow to the committee also revealed information about trips to Indonesia and California in 2019, which involved private jet travel and an eight-day yacht excursion in Bali. The total value of gifts received by Thomas is estimated to be nearly $4.2 million, raising concerns about potential ethical violations.
Senate Judiciary Chair Dick Durbin criticized Thomas for failing to disclose the trips, stating that the Supreme Court needs an enforceable code of conduct to address the ongoing ethical crisis. Thomas’s attorney, Elliot S. Berke, defended his client by citing a “personal hospitality exemption” and claiming that Thomas had complied with disclosure requirements.
