Colin Farrell recently participated in the Dublin marathon alongside his friend, Emma Fogarty. Emma, who is the longest-surviving person in Ireland with a rare genetic skin disorder called Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), has been friends with Farrell for over 15 years. The condition, which affects one in 50,000 people, causes the skin to be extremely fragile and prone to wounds and infections.

During the marathon, Farrell ran as part of the “Team Emma” squad and pushed Emma in her wheelchair for the last four kilometers of the race. Each kilometer represented a decade of Emma’s life living with EB. Farrell described the experience as “extraordinary” and emphasized how the incredible support from the crowds helped them push through the race.

The duo managed to raise over $700,000 for charity through this marathon. Emma expressed her gratitude to everyone who supported them and encouraged further donations to reach their goal of €1 million. Their incredible journey and fundraising efforts highlight the power of friendship and determination in making a difference in the lives of those facing rare medical conditions.
