Conor McGregor’s highly anticipated UFC comeback has been postponed due to a broken toe. UFC President Dana White confirmed last week that McGregor’s fight against Michael Chandler in UFC 303 later this month was canceled. The matchup was already in doubt after McGregor’s news conference in Dublin on June 3 was abruptly canceled on the day of the event.

McGregor took to social media to share an update, revealing that he had to withdraw from the fight due to an undisclosed injury. However, on Friday, he disclosed that a “lapse in concentration” during a training session caused him to break his toe.

“We were so ready for this fight, and it is heartbreaking to have to pull out,” McGregor wrote on Instagram. “I made a mistake during training, didn’t wear proper protective gear, and ended up breaking my toe.”

He emphasized that he needed a few weeks to recover and didn’t want to step into the octagon while hindered. McGregor expressed confidence in his return, promising fans a 100% performance in his next fight.

McGregor’s last fight was in 2021, where he lost to Dustin Poirier after breaking his leg during the bout. Despite these setbacks, McGregor remains determined to make a strong comeback for his fans.
