Ecuador, which bounced back from a 2-1 loss to Venezuela, won its first match at this tournament since a 4-0 win over Haiti in 2016, ending an eight-game winless streak.

Kasey Palmer’s own goal in the 13th minute gave Ecuador the lead and Páez, still just 17, made it 2-0 with a penalty in the fourth minute of first-half added time.

Michail Antonio scored Jamaica’s first goal of the Copa America in the 54th minute, and Minda scored the final goal in the first minute of second-half added time.

Ecuador has three points and Jamaica none.

Ecuador closes Group B against Mexico in Glendale, Arizona, on Sunday, while Jamaica faces Venezuela.
