Today, several talented young runners from Crawford County will be participating in the PIAA State Championships at the Parkview Cross Country Course in Hershey. Megan Puleio from Meadville, along with Camryn Harakal, Reese Digiacomo from Saegertown, and Logan Kier from Maplewood, are all set to compete against more than 1,600 students from across the state for a shot at the state title.

In the 2A girls race, Megan Puleio will be representing Crawford County after securing a fourth-place finish at districts with a time of 18 minutes and 56 seconds. This will be Puleio’s third time competing at the state meet, showcasing her experience and determination.

Saegertown will have two runners in the girls Class 1A race. Reese Digiacomo, who finished third at the district meet with a time of 19:53, and Camryn Harakal, who finished 12th with a time of 21:04. Harakal, a junior, will be making her second appearance at the state tournament after finishing 46th in last year’s race.

Logan Kier from Maplewood will be the sole representative for the Tigers at the state meet, making his debut appearance in Hershey after finishing 12th in the Class 1A district meet with a time of 17:17.

Vance Hohmann, the second representative from Meadville, will be competing in the Class 2A boys race. Hohmann, a sophomore, placed 12th in the district meet with a time of 16:34, marking his first appearance at the state championships.

The girls Class 1A race will kick off the day at 9:30 a.m., followed by the Class 2A race at 10:15 a.m. The boys 1A race will start at 11:45 a.m., with the Class 2A race scheduled for 12:30 p.m. It’s set to be an exciting day of competition as these talented young runners showcase their skills and determination on the state stage.
