A 29-year-old is suspected of having thrown his dog from the balcony on the sixth floor of a residential building in the Rostock district of Groß Klein. The Jack Russell Terrier was taken to a veterinary clinic, where he died shortly afterwards, police said on Thursday.
An investigation was launched against the man for violating the Animal Welfare Act. Nothing was initially known about the background of the alleged crime. The Rostock criminal police have taken over the further investigation.
