2024 A2IM Libera Awards Winners Announced in New York City
De La Soul, Caroline Polachek, Blondshell, IDLES, and more were honored at the 2024 A2IM Libera Awards in New York City. The event took place at Gotham Hall on June 10, with comedian Marcia Belsky hosting the show.
Mitski’s album “The Land Is Inhospitable and So Are We” won record of the year at the awards ceremony.
De La Soul’s debut album “3 Feet High and Rising” received three awards, including best reissue, creative packaging, and a marketing genius award. The album was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame this year.
Caroline Polachek’s album “Desire, I Want to Turn Into You” won self-released record of the year and best alternative rock record.
Blondshell’s self-titled album won best rock record and breakthrough artist presented by Virgin Music Group.
IDLES took home awards for music video of the year and best short-form video for songs from their album “Tangk.”
Killer Mike’s album “MICHAEL” won best hip-hop/rap record.
The event featured performances from various artists, including Christian McBride, Lara Downes, Pachyman, Kari Faux, Fcukers, and LØLØ.
The A2IM Libera Awards, presented by Merlin, honored the best in independent music with 36 categories. The event also recognized Louis Posen, the founder of Hopeless Records, with the 2024 Lifetime Achievement Award.
The awards ceremony kicked off A2IM’s annual Indie Week conference, which ran from June 11 to June 13 at the InterContinental New York Times Square.
