The MNPD stated on Facebook at 6:30 p.m. that multiple victims had been hurt in the shooting on Jefferson Street and 27th Avenue North, but assured the public that the situation was under control and that the victims were receiving treatment at local hospitals. During a briefing, MNPD Public Information Officer Brooke Reese revealed that a 24-year-old male had tragically lost his life, with a total of 10 confirmed victims.
Reese disclosed that out of the 10 victims, five were taken to hospitals by the Nashville Fire Department, while the remaining five were brought in by private vehicles. Additionally, three of the victims who sustained non-life-threatening injuries were minors and were transported to a children’s hospital for treatment.
