There’s a new musical in the works for Broadway that will showcase the life and career of country-pop superstar Dolly Parton. Titled “Hello, I’m Dolly,” the show is set to debut in 2026, with Parton herself taking the lead in creating the production.
The musical will feature a mix of both new songs and classic hits from Parton. She is collaborating on the script with Maria S. Schlatter, who previously worked with Parton on the 2020 Netflix film “Christmas on the Square.”
The production team includes Parton, Adam Speers from ATG Productions, and Danny Nozell from CTK Enterprises. While details like casting, creative team, and venue are yet to be announced, Parton made the exciting announcement at the CMA Fest in Nashville.
This isn’t Parton’s first foray into Broadway, as she previously received a Tony nomination for her work on the stage adaptation of “9 to 5.” The idea for the new musical stemmed from a British revival of “9 to 5” where she met one of the key producers.
