Dragon Ball Sparkling Zero: Exciting Leak of a New Beloved Character
There is exciting news for Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero! The new game from the franchise created by Akira Toriyama could surprise us with a very beloved character!
Among the video game adaptations of Dragon Ball, two are particularly dear to fans: Budokai and Budokai Tenkaichi. Seventeen years after its last installment, the latter finally returns! For the occasion, it is renamed its Japanese title, “Sparking.” So eagerly awaited, Dragon Ball Sparking Zero is expected to arrive this year!
The fourth installment of Budokai Tenkaichi is gradually revealed through trailers or promotional images in the V-Jump magazine. However, it is also a victim of regular leaks… This is how we learned that the game is likely to be detailed at the Summer Game Fest. But that’s not all, as a new leak raises many questions.
An uncertain character for Dragon Ball Sparking Zero
Last Friday, fans noticed an exciting detail: the icon of Dragon Ball Sparking Zero displayed at the top of its SteamDB page, Steam’s catalog database, showed a character not yet revealed in the game’s roster. It was none other than Son Goku in his ultra instinct form discovered in Dragon Ball Super.
But a turn of events questions this discovery. In fact, the icon has since been changed to make way for the game’s logo. The page was indeed updated on the night of May 26-27. Now, the Kanji 武 (“Bu”), from the word “武道” (“Budō”) which refers to Japanese martial arts, replaces Goku’s image. This Kanji is well known to Dragon Ball fans as it decorates the walls of the martial arts tournament stadium in the manga and is regularly used in games, sometimes even in their title (“Budokai”).

So, did the Steam platform leak a Goku skin ahead of time? Several hypotheses are plausible: either the character should be officially revealed soon, or he will not be immediately available in the game. In fact, due to the economic system of the latest Dragon Ball games, one may now wonder if Sparking Zero will include DLC. So far, nothing has been declared about this for the game. Let’s hope this leak does not bring us an unpleasant surprise…
