Fox News drones provided a new perspective on the sight lines between Thomas Matthew Crooks, former President Trump, and the Secret Service counter sniper teams at the fateful rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Thursday. The drone footage revealed that Crooks was concealed from the Secret Service counter snipers by a large tree but still had an angle on the former president.

CB Cotton, a Fox News correspondent, detailed the sight lines that Crooks had when firing on Trump. The Secret Service agent who neutralized Crooks was stationed on a building behind Trump, and the drone footage showed that he would have only seen part of Crooks’ body at the time of the incident.

Bodycam footage from the day of the shooting depicted confusion among the Secret Service agents and local police. Several officers were seen standing around Crooks’ body on the roof discussing the incident. The officers found eight bullet casings around Crooks, which aligned with testimony from FBI Director Christopher Wray.

In addition to his rifle, Crooks brought two explosive devices to the rally, both capable of remote detonation. The transmitter for the explosives was found on Crooks’ body, and the devices were discovered in his vehicle near the rally.

Wray testified before the House Judiciary Committee regarding the FBI’s investigation into the shooting. Congress held hearings multiple times to discuss the attempted assassination of Trump, with testimonies from various officials, including former Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle.

Cheatle delivered testimony before the House Oversight Committee and resigned shortly after. The House Homeland Security Committee heard from Pennsylvania State Police, followed by Wray’s hearing. The House of Representatives voted unanimously to open a commission to further investigate the shooting.

The details revealed by the drone footage shed new light on the events that unfolded at the rally and the actions of Thomas Matthew Crooks. The investigation into the shooting continues, with law enforcement agencies working to uncover the motives behind the attempted assassination of former President Trump.
