dump-truck-collision-causes-power-outage-at-whisky-a-go-go

A dump truck went and crashed into five cars before slamming right into the famous Whiskey a Go Go club in West Hollywood, causing a power outage for businesses nearby, according to the authorities. Saadullah Sheikh, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Department, mentioned that no one got hurt, and they didn’t really know what made the dump truck driver lose control of the big vehicle. This whole thing happened just before 2 p.m. when the truck smacked into five cars and then smashed into the building in the 8900 block of Sunset Boulevard, as Sheikh explained. Jeff Monford, who speaks for Southern California Edison, said that the dump truck managed to bring down a main wire, which then cut off the power for some of the buildings around. At first, about 1,420 customers were left in the dark, but they managed to reduce that number to 225 by rerouting the power. Monford said that the crews were there, trying to fix the power outage on Friday afternoon, but they weren’t really sure when the power would be back on. Some pics that were shared on social media show a white dump truck full of dirt just chilling against the red brick building with a power transformer lying on the ground. Another picture shows a messed up U.S. Postal Service vehicle with its right front side all smashed up. The folks over at Whiskey a Go Go couldn’t be reached for a comment right away. Apparently, there were a few bands set to perform at the venue that evening.

He played a big part in uncovering some shady business in the city of Bell, which led to criminal charges against eight city officials. This whole investigation back in 2010 won the Pulitzer Prize for public service and a bunch of other fancy awards.

Alright, so that’s the scoop on what went down in West Hollywood. Not really sure why this matters, but hey, that’s the news for you. Just a dump truck causing chaos and knocking out the power for a bit. Maybe it’s just me, but I feel like this kind of stuff happens more often than we realize. Just another day in the city, I guess.
