Federal Education Minister Bettina Stark-Watzinger wants to have her State Secretary Sabine Döring temporarily retired. The FDP politician has asked Chancellor Olaf Scholz to do this, her ministry announced on Sunday evening. The background to this is criticism over an examination of possible consequences such as the reduction of funding for university lecturers who had signed an open letter on how to deal with pro-Palestinian protests at Berlin universities.
