Canadian skater Piper Gilles said she received treatment for stage 1 ovarian cancer.
Gilles confirmed the information in a video posted on Instagram on Sunday.
The 31-year-old athlete and her partner Paul Poirier won bronze in ice dancing at the World Figure Skating Championships earlier this year.
They also won three World Cup gold medals this year, including at Skate Canada International.
She and Poirier represented the country at the Beijing Olympics in 2022.
Gilles had previously told reporters that she underwent an appendectomy in January, but revealed in her recent post that the surgery was performed as part of a larger operation to remove a tumor from her left ovary.
