Venom: The Last Dance, announced as the final chapter of the trilogy starring Tom Hardy, promises to be the most perilous adventure of Eddie Brock and his unpredictable symbiote Venom.

Kelly Marcel, who contributed to the screenplay for previous installments, directs her first film here. As with Let There Be Carnage, she teamed up with Tom Hardy to write the story. This places the duo, who inhabit the same body, on the run. First chased by government agents trying to keep the alien presence on Earth a secret, the pair must then face an invasion from creatures from Venom’s planet.

Peggy Lu (Ms. Chen) and Stephen Graham (Patrick Mulligan, aka Toxin) reprise their roles, while Alanna Ubach and Juno Temple are added to the cast. Chiwetel Ejiofor, who plays Karl Mordo in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), appears to be playing another character here. We briefly see Rhys Ifans in the trailer, but we still don’t know if he returns as Dr. Curt Connors, aka Lizard, seen in two Spider-Man films.

After Madame Web, Venom: The Last Dance is the second film of three this year from Sony’s Spider-Man Universe (SSU). It’s due on October 25, a few weeks before Kraven the Hunter, now due on December 13.
