The upcoming Republican National Convention will showcase more than two dozen “everyday Americans” as speakers who will emphasize former President Donald J. Trump’s campaign themes and policies. Among these speakers are four individuals who previously supported Democrats, reflecting the Trump campaign’s efforts to attract voters from key constituencies such as Black voters, Hispanic Americans, and blue-collar workers.

One of the speakers announced is Linda Fornos, an immigrant from Nicaragua who shared her disappointment with Democrats, including President Biden, at a recent Trump rally in Las Vegas. The Trump campaign is focusing on winning over Latino voters, especially in battleground states like Arizona and Nevada.

Another speaker, Robert Bartels Jr., known as Bobby, is a New York union official who identified as a lifelong Democrat but has been supportive of Mr. Trump’s efforts to appeal to blue-collar union workers. He attended a meeting with construction workers during the former president’s trial in Manhattan.

Annette Albright, a Black woman and former school employee, is also set to speak at the convention. Described as a lifelong Democrat, she participated in a town hall event in North Carolina hosted by the political organization Moms for Liberty.

These speakers represent a diverse range of backgrounds and perspectives, underscoring the Trump campaign’s outreach to various demographic groups. The convention, scheduled to begin in Milwaukee, will feature these “everyday Americans” alongside elected officials, candidates, party members, and Trump’s family members.

While the full list of speakers has yet to be announced, the inclusion of individuals who have crossed party lines to support Mr. Trump highlights the campaign’s strategy to broaden its appeal and secure votes in the upcoming election.
