(Los Angeles) Bronny James has been cleared by doctors to make a full return to basketball, four months after suffering a cardiac arrest.
The 19-year-old is expected to make his debut for USC soon.
A family spokesperson said in a statement on Thursday that James would undergo a final assessment with the club this week, with a view to returning to training next week.
He will be able to play matches “shortly thereafter,” the statement said.
The Trojans will face Gonzaga in Las Vegas on Saturday.
Their next game in Los Angeles is Dec. 10, against Long Beach State.
Lakers star LeBron James’ son had a congenital heart defect, which was treatable.
Bronny James suffered a cardiac arrest in July during practice at the Galen Center, the home of the Trojans.
