(Nassau) Tiger Woods had five birdies but struggled late in the round at the Hero World Challenge on Friday, shooting a 70 to finish the day in 15th place.
Woods made four birdies in his first seven holes, before adding one at the 17th.
His late round included a bogey on the 15th hole, where one of his putts went off the green and into a bunker.
Woods posted 145, one stroke over par.
He is 10 shots behind leaders Scottie Scheffler (66) and Jordan Spieth (67).
The back nine is what’s causing Woods headaches, with scores of 39 and 38 at this point.
On Friday, he still holed a 30-foot putt for birdie at the 17th.
He didn’t see a deep explanation for his troubles at the end of the journey.
“Maybe because it’s been a long time since I played,” he said, smiling.
This is his first tournament since the Masters; a few weeks later, he underwent ankle surgery.
Woods has not completed 72 holes since the 2022 Masters.

Scheffler had eight birdies-three more than Spieth, who avoided bogey.
They are one shot ahead of Brian Harman (69), the winner of the British Open this year.
