Gullane Productions Announces Exciting New Projects
Rio de Janeiro – Leading Brazilian production company Gullane Entretenimento has revealed their plans to create a feature-length documentary and the third season of an animated series centered around the legendary Formula One driver Ayrton Senna. The announcement was made by company directors Fabiano and Caio Gullane in an exclusive interview with Variety.
The upcoming documentary, titled “Senna,” is set to be a bio drama TV series produced by Gullane for Netflix. With Vicente Amorim as the showrunner and directors Amorim and Julia Rezende on board, “Senna” is expected to premiere later this year. Boasting the highest budget ever for a Brazilian series, “Senna” is designed to appeal to audiences worldwide.
In addition to “Senna,” Gullane will also be producing “Senna Kart – A Pura Competição” (“Senna Kart – Pure Competition”), a documentary that chronicles the early days of Senna’s career in kart racing. The film will be produced in collaboration with Canal Azul and directed by Pedro Rodrigues.
Furthermore, Gullane is teaming up with Gloob, a Globo pay-TV channel, to create “Senninha na pista maluca,” the third season of an animated children’s series that follows the adventures of a young racing enthusiast named Senninha. The new season is scheduled to premiere in the second half of 2025.
Speaking about the projects, Caio Gullane expressed the importance of preserving Ayrton Senna’s legacy through film and television. The Gullane brothers also discussed the challenges of filming “Senna” in multiple countries during a panel at Rio2C, Latin America’s premier creativity event.
In addition to the Senna-related projects, Gullane has several other exciting productions in the works, including the animated film “Noah’s Ark” and the fifth and final season of the popular series “Sintonia.” The company is also gearing up for the second season of the TV series “Colonia,” based on Daniela Arbex’s book “Holocausto Brasileiro.”
Fabiano Gullane revealed that Gullane is working on two music documentary TV series focusing on Brazilian rock group Titas and singer Daniela Mercury. Directed by Vitor Mafra, these series will consist of six half-hour episodes each.
