Gwyneth Paltrow Lists Stunning Los Angeles Home for Nearly $30 Million
Gwyneth Paltrow has put her impressive six-bedroom home in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles on the market for almost $30 million. The actress, known for her role in “Shakespeare in Love,” originally purchased the 8,000-square-foot house with her former husband Chris Martin in 2012 for $9.95 million. The single-story residence, designed by Windsor Smith, is situated in the lower Mandeville Canyon area, offering a sense of seclusion and peace with its high hedges. The property features reclaimed wood floors and intricate stonework, as highlighted in the Zillow listing.
Paltrow’s decision to sell the house comes as her two children, Apple Martin and Moses Martin, have reached adulthood. Apple, age 20, currently attends Vanderbilt University, while Moses, age 18, is preparing to attend Brown University in the fall. Following her divorce from Coldplay frontman Chris Martin in 2016, Paltrow remarried producer Brian Falchuk, who also has children in college. The couple intends to divide their time between Montecito and their residence in the Hamptons.
Originally constructed in 1950, the home has been enhanced with a guesthouse, a wine cellar with controlled temperature, a state-of-the-art movie theater, gym, and game room. The main house boasts a spacious living room with high ceilings, elegant moldings, and French doors leading to the backyard, which features a plunge pool and lavish gardens. Paltrow, known for her lifestyle brand Goop, has utilized the chef’s kitchen extensively, complete with a center island, double cooktops, double ranges, and a wood-burning oven, as well as a breakfast room.
The primary wing of the residence offers his and her bedroom/bath suites, while the additional bedrooms feature built-in bunk beds and dormer windows. The property also includes an “apartment” above the garage, amounting to a total of eight bedrooms and 11 bathrooms. Last year, Paltrow even listed the guesthouse of her Montecito property on Airbnb for a weekend, offering to welcome the guests personally and host dinner for them.
