According to a representative survey, around half of people eligible to vote in Germany would be in favor of new federal elections. 51 percent of those surveyed said they would be in favor of early federal elections, according to the ZDF political barometer published on Thursday. A total of 43 percent were against early federal elections. The rest said they did not know.
71 percent of respondents said they were not satisfied with the government’s work (May: 63 percent). A quarter of respondents, however, gave the coalition a good rating (May: 33 percent), while the remaining respondents answered “don’t know.”
For this political barometer, the Mannheim Election Research Group surveyed 1,334 people by telephone and online from June 10 to 12.
